Our goal is for each catchment to be surveyed twice each summer, roughly between June and late July depending on elevation. Volunteers can choose to adopt both catchment visits, or just one and leave the second visit for another volunteer to adopt.
Catchments occur across three regions: Medicine Bow National Forest, Routt National Forest, and Bridger-Teton National Forest. Select a region below to view available survey catchments. Click on individual catchment names to view catchment details including description, access, and difficulty ratings. Please note that some catchments require long drives or hikes to access.
Your job, once you adopt a catchment, is to visit all sites within the catchment to survey for amphibians and submit your observations to us. Training (online or in-person) is required. You'll be contributing to important research in an incredibly meaningful way!
